Psychology is the study of human beings and real-life; during your time at Oxford you will learn about exploring the mind, brain and behaviours of everyone from babies through to the elderly. World leading researchers will encourage you to embrace the diversity of the subject and explore your own research questions and ideas through practical classes and research projects as well as essays and tutorials. The course is an exciting, science-lead subject that will enhance your critical thinking as well as your knowledge, which can be applied in a variety of vocations post-degree.
We understand that not everyone goes straight from A-Levels into an undergraduate degree, which is why Harris Manchester is proud to only offer places to people aged 21 and over. The psychology course does not expect students to have studied psychology before, only that they have a passion for the subject, an open mind and flexibility of thought. The course is experimental, not clinical. Harris Manchester has a long experience in catering for mature students and your tutors will be ready to support you back into education. We actually find that mature students who have life experience beyond schooling can come up with some of the most relevant and interesting research ideas!
The Department of Experimental Psychology is just a two minute walk from Harris Manchester making it ideally located for students reading either of these courses.
