HMC students round off academic year with prestigious prizes
Harris Manchester College students rounded off the academic year with a string of prestigious University prizes for their work, further confirming HMC’s reputation for excellence. This success follows the College’s third-place finish in the most recent Norrington Table ranking, a new record.
Below is a summary of the prizes awarded to HMC students:
Anja Segmueller took the Richard Cobb Prize for the best thesis in modern European History. She was also awarded a Gibbs Prize (awarded for the highest average mark over seven papers in the Final Honour School of History)
Rick Longley was awarded Best Research Project in the Final Honour School of Experimental Psychology
Bertie Bloomfield secured the Law Faculty Prize in Constitutional Law and the Law Faculty Prize in Contract Law
Joshua Lim received the Braddick Prize (Proxime Accessit) by the Department of Experimental Psychology for the second-best overall performance in prelim papers submitted for the Preliminary Examination in Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics
Joseph Ng took the Gibbs Prize in Politics for the top performance across all Politics papers
Aron Szocs received the Chancellor's Prize for Latin Prose Composition, having previously become the first HMC student to be awarded the Gaisford Prize for Greek Prose
Gideon Tay won the John Hicks Foundation Prize for the best performance in Macroeconomics (Economics & Management candidates).
